A region is territory defined based on common signs. I the Czech Republic, we speak about ethnographic areas, region where people have safeguarded specific traditional folk customs – songs, folk costumes, dialect, and folk customs. There is a number of different maps and names of regions, their placing and approximate area. We offer a map of ethnographic areas as mentioned in the encyclopaedia called Folk Culture. Simultaneously, we mention an overview of other places where you can learn more about ethnographic areas.
